Codemasters Studios Birmingham, is a BAFTA award winning development team responsible for the critically acclaimed, 2 million-plus selling F1 2010™ developed using the EGO™ Game Technology Platform, Codemasters’ proprietary tech .

Currently in development is F1 2011™, the sequel to the fastest-selling FORMULA ONE game ever released

However along side this we are looking for additional talent to join a new team based in Birmingham to work on a brand new exciting title. We can’t tell you what it is yet but rest assured you will love it.

We are currently looking to fulfil a number of new positions for this new IP including – Lead Programmer

To support the senior Production team in the technical development of quality products using internal development teams, from initial design to final commercial mastering, within agreed schedules and costs.
 
Management
  • Lead the day to day management of the programming team.
  • Regular appraisal, review and objective setting for programming team.
  • Ensure good communication & coordination between the programming and other parts of the team (art, level design, design, production)
  • Recommend training requirements for own programming team.
  • Assist with recruitment and selection of staff for own team.
  • Liaise with external service providers as required.

Scheduling
  • Prepare task schedules for programming team in conjunction with Programmers, other Leads, Producers and Project Planning Manager.
  • Monitor and progress tasks schedules for programming team in conjunction with Producer & Project Planning manager as appropriate.
  • Identify and review task risks, recommend and help implement mitigation and contingencies.
 
Technical Design
  • Responsible for production of technical specifications (Technical Design) based on the game design document for the project.
  • Be involved in the design process, offering advice & information from a technical perspective.
  • Liaise with QA and compatibility departments & aid in testing plan.

Procedures and Standards
Ensure good coding standards are set and achieved across the team.
